How does this affects the development of compiz???
Its obvious that if each Desktop Environment implements their own composite effects then pretty soon compiz will be left out since native window managers will probably offer better integration with the DE.

I really haven't seen any videos on it but maybe the use of QT 4 offers some advantages in rendering - effects ???

I would like to hear some comments on that especially from distro packagers. Whats to expect in the future and such stuff....

Hmm, i really think that compiz will be an alternative but for a normal use, kwin will be the "by default" kde window manager.

From my point of view, kwin is a better WM than Compiz and i really like Kde code.

In the gnome world, i think compiz is going to be the default gnome composite manager but i may be wrong...

Some Graphics qt4 demo ;) (qt4 really rocks!)

KDE's Kwin has one HUGE advantage. When your PC isn't capable of using compositing then you have normal window manager without opengl stuff.
When you use Compic/Beryl/Coral and your PC isn't capable of using compositing then it's game over 8)

And this could be the main reason for Gnome not to replace metacity atm.

When enabled, the effects are designed to degrade gracefully. If GL is not available, KWin disables GL effects but still allows Composite effects where possible via XRender. If XRender is not available, it falls back to plain X, running in the same fashion as the present KDE 3 version.
