skydome issue

I am a new compiz-fusion user and am having a little difficulty. I have setup my skydome to use a skydome image I obtained from compiz-themes.org. It seems that when I'm rotating my cube towards the top or bottom my skydome will be visible and then all of a sudden it will turn blue (like a plain blue skydome) unless I rotate towards the desktop again. My video card does support a maximum texture size of 4096 so I know it is not that. Has anybody else experienced this and if so how can I fix it?
