Hi,
I'm using Arch Linux with kdemod (which includes the kdesktop-transparency patch).
Transparency for kde-wallpaper works perfectly, I can see all 4 wallpapers I selected with wallpaper plugin. But somehow the quality of the wallpapers drawn by the plugin is worse.
I made 2 screenshots. One with activated wallpaper plugin (http://img233.imageshack.us/my.php?image=with4wallpapersmr8.png) (bad quality), and one without wallpaper plugin (http://img233.imageshack.us/my.php?image=without4wallpaperszq0.png) (normal quality).

Anyone an idea what causes this quality loss?

greetings, yodo

Actually this is a bug with all of the image drawing plugins :(

a bit late, but I just noticed this too..
It seems to go away, though, when disabling texture compression, from General options, General tab. Then images rendered by the wallpaper plugin seem to be ok.
I'm not very sure what perceivable benefits texture compression has, if any. Framerate and memory usage seem about the same, so I guess it's better left off.

I'm running compiz 0.7.6 on Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 with the wallpapers plugin from the git server. Backgrounds look clear and sharp, and I do not have the texture thing turned off in general options of ccsm. I use the Nvidia proprietary driver for X.
