My Laptop is Lenovo F31AT5250
CPU: Core2 T5250
RAM: 2GB DDR667
Video card: nVidia 8400M GS
OS: Fedora 8(Gnome)
It's very slow when using compiz fusion.
And I found that there're lots of users whose video card is 8400M having this problem.
How can I solve it?

The geforce 8 series laptops have a power saving feature called powermizer, which has a negative impact on compiz performance.
See http://nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=101161 for more information.
Page three, in particular, offers a possible workaround.
Also, while running compiz, can you bring up a terminal and show us the output of 'ps ax | grep compiz' ?

Thank you!
I found only when I use Emerald as the Window Decorator it is slow
And in nVidia X server settings , the Performance Mode has already been Maximum Performance.
The output is :
3617 ? SL 0:25 compiz --replace --sm-disable --ignore-desktop-hints ccp
3699 pts/0 R+ 0:00 grep compiz

Also, try enabling Loose Binding in the Compiz Options menu. (or manually adding --loose-binding to compiz's options)
