The only way I could get them to work, after install, I linked the plugins I want to use to ~/.compiz/plugins
I use ini backend so I just add the plugins in general-allscreens.conf under ~/.compiz/options. The conf file for the particular plugin should be generated after successful boot.
According to http://forum.compiz.org/viewtopic.php?t=726&start=105:
To generate .schema files, use bcop -g plugin.options or
The missing schemas for bench, group, mblur, reflex, ring, showdesktop, snap, splash, thumbnail, tile & wall are here http://franzrogar.googlepages.com/schemas.tar.gz
hope that helps

hi, thanks for replying, compcomm plugins (compiz-extra) dont generate plugin.options anymore, and while those schemas you pointed to me work, some might me outdated, is there any way to generate the schemas with more recent bcop and latest compcomm plugins? or how do i enable those plugins and change their options?

No, there is no way at the moment besides using the gconf-dump plugin which is included in Compiz. However, an XML metadata-to-Gconf schema is already on David's TODO list: click (http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/compiz/2007-April/002038.html).
