Hello. I would like to know why you are spoiling great functions and making many new useless functions??
3D window: if i use this function is only for see windows in 3D one after another and not one capping another (in this plugin, when u rotate a cube, a first window becomes bigger and caps all another windows,
Cube: if i use a transparent cube is only for see a backside of another workspaces and windows. but in compiz-fusion, since last updates, backsides becomes darker and we cant see nothing in this sides.
Did u sacrifice an utility of 3D windows only for fix a depth buffer in cube reflexion (making a cube smaller?)?? :poop::bad:
the 3D windows plugin is like a concentric cubes and one only windows on each cube (in beryl was different)
they say that compiz-fusion is beryl+compiz. but right now i have instaled beryl and compiz-fusion too. because compiz-fusion can't replace beryl. it has meny things that beryl hasn't but... sometimes you forget why some thing exists.

Wait what?

That _is_the behaviour of the 3D Windows plugin as it stands today, except it performs an opposite effect really. Instead of windows hovering off the cube, the cube zooms out and each window zooms out to a certain point to give a 3D effect. Therefore, the first window still covers other windows.
Windows zooming out from the cube doesn't really make much sense, but if you really want this functionality, I can try and make a patch to implement it into the 3D plugin.
Cube: if i use a transparent cube is only for see a backside of another workspaces and windows. but in compiz-fusion, since last updates, backsides becomes darker and we cant see nothing in this sides.
Disable lighting as it is bugged at the moment (cannot fix)
CCSM->General Options->Display Option->Lighting an uncheck it

I don't remember there being such an issue, however you can ask the author of cubereflex and 3d, onestone about it. 3D was incredibly buggy anyways when we ported it to compiz, so it had to be re-written.

No it wasn't. Each window was on it's own layer, even if it was hard to notice.

The main reason why there are a certain few regressions from Beryl is because compiz is essentially upstream software compared to Compiz Fusion and it would be mighty difficult to add some of the hacks that made certain Beryl features possible. Here is what you won't see in compiz from Beryl for sure
Minimized window thumbnails. This was a hack which took a snapshot of the window before it was unmapped. This will only come back once we are able to get the pixmap of an unmapped window.
Scale show minimized: This was also a hack that physically unminimized all windows in scale mode, not the way to go - see before.
Non FBO blur. Onestone has said that he will not release the code for this because of the terrible performance with compiz core
Rotate hacks (planar view, etc). They are mega hacks :DThe list goes on, but I do happen to have patches to add some of the missing functionality (not mentioned on this list) back in. If you want them, just ask me :D

there has been regressions (and trust me, much more at the beginning of the merge)
but once we get input redirection (which is out of control of compiz and compiz-fusion devs) and the object-framework, the small number of regressions left will definitely be fixed, and then we will have even more after that :)
(just as there are already many things in compiz fusion that wasn't in beryl)
it's all a matter of waiting :)
(if that still isn't enough though, have a look at some of the early compiz-quinn releases :p back in the fun days of around 10 plugins :))
