Is compiz running? ("ps aux | grep compiz") and is animation plugin enabled? Also, try chainging some of the animations to see whether it has any effect

You probably don't have the animations selected properly. Try grabbing a screenshot of the minimize animation tab of the animation plugin in ccsm.

See how you have "Zoom" listed in the animation selection window? Double click on that and in the window that pops up, change it to the other animation you want to use (which would probably be "magic lamp" based on your screenshot). All you did was force Magic Lamp to be used when you've selected the "Random" animation in the animation selection area.

I'm not sure I understand your question. You've chosen only burn for minimize, maximize, and close, but want it to be random? Then just select the random option.

Select Random from the menu in the Edit dialog (the same place that you set the duration). The checkbuttons at the bottom are for determining which effects will be used _if_ you select random mode.

Choose random by clicking on the default animtion in the "animation selection" window. In that drop down, select "Random". Then, beneath that, where it says "Random Effects" and "Pool" select all the effects you want the plugin to pick from.

Visual aids! A specific animation can be set to random from here:

And the animation effects that can appear at random should be selected at the bottom half of each animation type's tab:
