The most funny part i think is when they say they will not support "features" like tvtime...

It's common knowledge they don't support these right now.

Sooner or later, they will have to though, or face losing the entirety of the Linux crowd to Intel and nVidia.

Hey, ATI sucks mate, get yourself an Nvidia and get rolling! Anyway, their support has been scarce, if not non-existent at all. When they got bought by AMD I thought they would change, but nothing has happened to show they're going to improve the situation at all, I guess we do not matter to them as Linux users are not the majority. And their drivers are very bad, even on windows, they cause a lot lot of trouble, believe me. Nvidia on the other hand do provide quite good support, and though their drivers are not open source they do provide them for free and they work as they should.

I guess your only option is the open source driver, and hope they work good. 8)

It doesn't do shaders and was unstable when I last tried.

So, my thoughts on this: Damn you AMD/ATI
It's definitely gonna be nvidia for my next system.

Where does it say they won't support those features?

Yes, but the question is when?
Next time, I'll definitely buy an intel or nvidia card...

Intel's drivers are the best ones for Linux out there...
