I want to use conky and have the background transulcent. But here's the problem.... I have my wallpaper translucent so just the skydome shows through and Conky does not show the skydome image with it when set to translucent. Is there anyway to fix this?

Sounds like Conky doesn't support true-transparency.
If there is a way to use true-transparency, use that. Otherwise you will either need to add it, or use a better program...

For me, you need this in your .conkyrc settings file:
#own window to run simultanious 2 or more conkys
own_window yes
own_window_transparent no
own_window_type desktop
own_window_hints undecorate,sticky,skip_taskbar,skip_pager

Yeah, I tried that setting. There's a couple of problems with it though. First problem, and it's the biggest...for somereason the 'own_window_type desktop' is incompatible with Compiz Fusion(at least the cube) because when you zoom out the cube completely disappears along with desktops on the cube sides and the only the that shows is Conky.
Another problem with own_window_type desktop is that when zoomed in I have Opacity on my Wall paper so the then Conky is barely noticeable.
