i don't have permissions?

for some weird reason the file browser won't let me change it so i can read/write files to my hard disk please help!!! thanks in advance :D oooo..by th way im running ubuntu 6.10 and if i posted in wrong place plz don't get mad :(

As delphinen said - next time please post your Ubuntu-questions over at Ubuntuforums.org.

My guess is that you somehow mounted your filesystem as read-only. You could post the output of "cat /etc/fstab", that could give some more details ...

EDIT: Or do you run your system from a live-CD? Then it is no surprise that your filesystem is read-only ... ;)
