When using Ubuntu 7.10, I get this (running any opengl app that has animation).

Is this a bug or a configuration problem if so how do I fix it.

It's a limitation of your video driver; only nvidia does that properly yet. "Redirected Direct Rendering" will fix it for the intel and ati drivers.
