app switcher

when i initiate the application switcher it gets animations its not supposed to have. it seems like the switcher is recognized as a normal window(as oppose to splash? im not sure). (ie. i have magic lamp for minimize and the switcher gets this animation after im done "switching")
can anyone shed any light on this. i find it annoying. thanks

Open up gconf-editor and set the following key to "1" (without the quotes):

/apps/metacity/general/num_workspaces

This should fix your problem, good luck!
