you are welcome :-D

don't know why, but these huge "thank you"s were asking for a "you're welcome" :-p

jokes aside, it's definitely good news for everyone. And it worked out quite well thus far. The fork has caused more publicity, since beryl was all about bringing more eye-candy to the users and brought more developers to the mix, while compiz steadily introduced the new foundations for the future of the composite desktop. Now with the merge we get all this in one package and no 'dilution' of work force.

well done to all of those that made this possible.

Nice work, all involved!

The start of good (better) new things, I think :)

I posted the news on Digg, so we can spread the word :) Hope that's 'allowed' :P

I'd just like to say again that vBulletin should be the software of choice for the new forum.

While I'm in such a good mood, I'd like to volunteer my services for website maintenance, upkeep, design, etc., etc., etc.

I do it for a living, so it wouldn't be much to lend a hand, if it's needed.

Since it's for the most part what I do for a living, I'll offer forum maintenance freely.

Whilst there's an air of good will generosity, I'd like to volunteer to lurk on the new forum.

When will be the first berylized compiz available?

My guess? Shortly.

Compiz 0.4 and 0.5 are tagged, but not officially released as of 3 days ago. I'm thinking they were left that way pending the merger. Now that it's been announced, I think some patches to core are possible in time for release. :)

(And of course the "TCC" is independent of core anyhoo)

The NEWS file has been updated now so I expect an 'official' release soon. The slowness has nothing to do with the merge I assure you ;)
