k well i succesfully installed compiz on ubuntu gusty with makefusion script. but the day after i installed it my fusion icon sortf of messed up. i couldnt change from metacity to compiz, and i didnt have the options wen i rite clicked it. i only had options like quit, remove from panel, help, and ccsm. but i didnt not have any options so beeing an idiot i accidently clicked remove from panel. so now i want to put the back the icon on my rite hand side of the panel. but wen i go to applications-->system tools and click fusion icon the icon doesnt apear in the rite corner. all it does is make the desktop blick a couple of times and turn of and on compiz. does anyone know how to put the icon in my rite hand side of the panel wen i click the fusion icon. and i also have it to were the fusion icon automaticly starts on start-up.

It sounds like you removed the "Notifcation Area" panel.
You need to right-click a blank area of your taskbar and select "Add to panel...", and from the list of panels that are then displayed, select "Notification Area".
{edit: And then move the "Notification Area" panel to where you want it (usually next to the clock)}

but i got one more question, i dont want to make another topic so. how do i change my icons. i have a tar.gz file and i extracted it at ~/.icons but how do i change it?

No, you should not need to extract it at all. Usually you would do something like:
1. Go to System->Preferences->Look and Feel->Theme (might be different for Ubuntu)
2. Click "Customize..."
3. Select the "Icons" tab
4. Click "Install..." and select the tar.gz file you downloaded
or
4. Drag the tar.gz file you downloaded to the Icon Sets list and then select it.

well i dont have a theme setting. i found every tut saying to go to theme but i ant find it.
