http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=686297
Hopin someone here can help me.... when i use the control+alt+mouse no cube can't drag anything over. when i select the desktops (4) on the tool bar nothing will load on them except for the back round image no toolbar or anything.
All input is appreciated

The first thing is to make sure compiz is actually running. What happens if you bring up a terminal and run: 'compiz --replace ccp &'

So compiz is definitely starting for you. But you're not getting the cube? Presumably you have the Desktop Cube and Rotate Cube plugins enabled in ccsm?

Please check to ensure that your settings in ccsm->General Options->Desktop Size are still correct:
Horizontal Virtual Size is 4
Vertical Virtual Size is 1
Number of Desktops is 1
Some distributions are said to have patched the GNOME workspace switcher to support adjusting the correct setting if Compiz is detected, but the surest way to know that your viewport/desktop size settings are correct is still to check ccsm.
