I am running compiz on a Mepis install. Compiz seems to work just fine but when I start it is when I have trouble with my mouse. If I click on anything in the kicker there is no response. I can minimize windows but can't bring them back. its a very strange problem and it happens the same with beryl. Just figured I would ask here. Any input would be appreciated;) Thanks

Try re-launching kicker with
killall kicker && kicker
and see if that helps. I've had quite a few problems myself with gnome-panel not recognizing input events either.

SmSpillaz,
I tried what you suggested and found out that this problem is not exclusive to the kicker. I knew I would have to have konsole open before starting compiz. As I typed the command in konsole there was an extreme delay. So much so that I thought it was unresponsive also. Just delayed. Kicker went away but never came back until I closed konsole at which point compiz crashed. I also noticed I can't right click on desktop. Nothing the mouse is basically unresponsive ( or at an extreme delay )
I want to be clear here though, I have installed kde4 on here.:o Everything seems to be just fine except for the conflicts I assume that are causing this.( and kde4s normal instabilities) I am trying to get this to work though and thought what better place to ask then here. I know this isn't an issue caused by compiz but rather the operator. But would like to get it resolved if thats even possible.
Thanks again for your input
