Can someone explain what this means for us ???

Is there a general plan for this??? Is it possible to run X with this stuff enabled ???

Well the idea is to use Xgl acceleration inside the standard xorg server.
It exposes a new acceleration path for drivers same as XAA or EXA instead that this one does all this drawing using OpenGL (reusing the code from Xgl to do it)

It is not currently possible to run X with it i think but it will pretty soon (when the driver makes it possible to enable this)

It is a great news i think, it is pretty much Xegl without the culprit it has !
