View Full Version : New website for all third-party screenlets
Sorcerer

I have set up a website for third-party screenlets at http://hendrik.kaju.pri.ee/screenlets. You can register there and upload and post your screenlets. This will be the central site for all user-created screenlets for a while. Eventually it will be moved to or replaced by screenlets.org
If you have any problems or questions, PM me.

Thank you, Sorcerer :)

It is not dead - I just didn't find the time to work on it yet ... I guess it is more important to get the screenlets to a first minor release (it's still a "pre-anything" version) :) ... The screenlets.org site will be updated asap then - and if Sorcerer likes, his site will then be moved to screenlets.org. I just don't really want the screenlets to catch more attention before a 0.1-release to avoid trouble.

Hi Sorcerer,
could you take out Widescape Weather and Barcode Clock from your package for now ? I've run into some permission issues

Permission issues? Well, no problem, I'll remove them and update NowPlaying.
EDIT: Sorry, I didn't see the PM before

hi guys,
what about to upload the screenlets widgets under the "screenlets" section of http://www.beryl-themes.org/ ?

I highly dislike putting screenlets under either beryl* or compiz* names ... The screenlets have nothing to do with beryl and the screenlets are no themes so the domain makes not that much sense. I would prefer third-party screenlets to be available on gnome-look.org, on Sorcerer's website or in this forums ... Once there are various backends they could also get hosted on kde-look.org.
If someone wants to help with screenlets' official website, please contact me via PM ...

you're right ;D
but I'm sure that when screenlets will become more popular (more than this? ) a screenlets (common) section on gnome-look, kde-look and beryl-themes will be a must.
PS
RYX, really thanks for your great project

I'll remove them and update NowPlaying.
Thanks for making a new package :)
There's a slight problem in screenlets-control. You'll have to remove those 2 screenlets from the default_screenlets list as well.
Thanks again

OK, new screenlets-utils package is in the repo. I hope you can sort things out, I really like the WidescapeWeather screenlet :)
