How can I make the Dropdown shadows on my windows be more like the ones on Mac OS X Leopard? They are huge and more realistically placed. Here (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/d/d5/ISync3.png) is an iSync schreenshot with the dropdown shadow as it appears when run under Leopard.
I've tried playing with the decoration settings in ccsm, but none of them even apply, all I get is this very plain dropdown shadow. Note that I am using gtk-window-decorator as my decoration manager.
Thanks

I believe you have to use gconf-editor to be able to change shadow settings for gtk-window-decorator.
gconf-editor > apps > compiz > decoration > allscreens > options
There are shadow settings there though I have tried to mimic the leopard shadows but they always end up looking crap, if you have better luck let me know your settings :D

If you don't want to use gconf-editor, you can use a tool I wrote called 'Compiz-Decorator-Settings' in the compiz-tools repository. You can get it with
git clone git://git.compiz-fusion.org/users/smspillaz/compiz-tools
# If you are using compiz 0.6
git checkout origin/0.6.0
git pull origin 0.6.0
Hope that helped ;-)

There were bugs in kde-window-decorator (bug 618 (http://bugs.opencompositing.org/show_bug.cgi?id=618)) and gtk-window-decorator (bug 619 (http://bugs.opencompositing.org/show_bug.cgi?id=619)) that caused them to ignore settings made in ccsm as well as command-line parameters . Both problems are fixed now, and the fixes should be included in the next version of Compiz.
Until then, try restarting the decorator after you make changes to ccsm to see if it reloads with the appropriate settings.

I tried using gconf, no luck. I can modify the opacity of the shadow and the radius, but I can't edit the X and Y axis. There is no change.
It seems like my shadows are a bit bigger at the top.
As for Compiz-Decorator-Settings, I'll try it now.

Hey Act1v,
Are you using emerald as the window decorator or gtk2?
If emerald, then the shadows are a bit configurable , you simply open Emerald theme manager click the theme you are using, go to edit themes tab and then the shadows tab. IT has the x and y sliders as well as others sliders to work with shadows. Now the only problem is that compiz fusion, unlike beryl, does not handle the shadows well, or should I day that emerald with compiz fusion doesnt work real well. Because of the apparent bug with connecting the panel shandows and the window shadows in emerald with compiz fusion , a great deal of work and p tience is involved in coming up with a compromise.
In beryl this shadow would have been no problem at all in recreating precisely. Not so in compiz fusion unfortunately. Unless this has been fixed in Master, it is a real disappointment to say the least. If you give me a link to either, or both the gtk2 theme or emerald theme you are using I can try to find the proper settings for it here.

No, I'm not using Emerald. I am using Gtk. The theme I am using is the default Clearlooks Border theme in Gnome 2.20.2.
Thanks
