Hi,
i did the Beryl translation in Dutch, too and now i want to continue with Compiz Fusion.
I started to translate i18n.po.
I use Kbabel because i don't like Pootle very much. The functionality is, so to say, extremely barely.
Besides, when starting from (almost) new it works nicely to load up a completed po file.
Later we can discuss about details and missing translations once it is in Pootle.
Some things:
'shade' is sometimes wrongly translated. Sometimes it's 'schaduw' or 'tint', other times it's 'oprollen' or 'verbergen'
Often in the original text the English Translation uses capitals. This isn't very common in Dutch. But there are often translations wich are nearly identical except for the capitals. This is because one is the button title and the other a tooltip or help.
I only use the capitals when translating effect/plugin names like 'Magische Lamp'.
I use the 'lange ij' on my keyboard, not an 'i' and a 'j'. This shoudn't be a problem because the program should use UTF8, but spellcheckers might complain about it.
I write this in English, so other language speaking can read with it. But if you want to write in Dutch i don't have problems with that
