The first feature many of us find in Compiz are the wobbly windows.
Wobbly windows move in a way such that they seem to have "inertia", as if they had a physical mass.
Then, why not keep this "mass paradigm" consistent through minimization and maximization?
A window would be minimized as if it were attracted by a strong gravitational pull.
And a window would be maximized as if it were instantaneously released from the (same polarity) magnetic bar.
