Looking for help getting all the effects like the cube out of my system. Running Kubuntu 7.10(gusty)64bit edition.

1) What do you mean by "out of my system"? Do you mean that you want them removed from your system? Or do you mean that you want to get the most you can out of your system?
2) Your thread title is very uninformative. Please change it to something that describes your problem (ie. "How do I install compiz-fusion on kubuntu 7.10" or "How do I remove compiz-fusion from my machine", depending on your answer to question 1).
If you're looking to install compiz, just this command in a terminal: "sudo apt-get install compiz-kde compiz-fusion*".
You can then try running compiz with 'compiz --replace ccp &'. If you have problems running that command, we will need more information from you, such as the video card you have, the video drivers you have installed, and the output of that command I just gave you.

hello
in future, it'd be better to follow some of the tips over here (http://forum.compiz-fusion.org/announcement.php?f=85) :D
as for your problem, is compiz atleast working ??
(you can tell by holding down alt, whilst scrolling the mouse wheel over a window, it should go transparent)
....
(btw, I've moved this thread to installation section, assuming compiz doesn't even work yet, if it does, then I'll move it again to configuration... :D)
