I have removed all traces of compiz from my gutsy install, I know want to install the latest version of Compiz Fusion.
Is there a package i can get or a repo which will allow me to use the latest plugins etc..
If so how can i do this?

The problem with gutsy is that it doesn't have xcb support, so being able to use git master (latest) is a bit of a hassle involving setting up xcb...
Though you can use the 0.6.0 branch which doesn't have this dependency...
this script here can help you with that http://forum.compiz-fusion.org/showthread.php?t=5019
unfortunately though, only the latest plugins with 0.6.0 ports will be able to be installed.....

You can use the makefusion Script found here:

The original page is in Italian, but the translator does a good work.
See the post throughly to get the instructions
