hmm, they only seem to be emerald themes, and should be in .emerald format.....

as for installing anything extra, does compiz work in the first place?

As delfick pointed out, those are Emerald-themes. Emerald is a window decorator that takes care of your window boarders (and titlebars) when running Compiz.

If you want to use them, install Emerald:
sudo apt-get install emerald
Then run System → Einstellugen → Emerald Theme Manager, click Import and choose the .emerald file you downloaded.

P.S. Wir haben hier übrigens ein deutsches Subforum (http://forum.compiz-fusion.org/forumdisplay.php?f=93), falls du mal 'ne komplexere Frage hast.

oh thank you

but then... the emerald themes... how to install? drag and drop?
if i find compiz themes, what ill have to do? drag and drop, too?

Do you know a tut(in german if possible, but english is ok...), that explain me, how i can pimp my compiz fusion? i think it gives so many things. Like windows, that burned down when closed...

Like I said, run Emerald Theme Manager and import them there. Drag & drop unfortunately doesn't work.

There's no such thing as a "compiz theme".
Compiz is "just" a (compositing) window manager, so it doesn't take care of themes. That's the job of your desktop environment. In Ubuntu that's GNOME by default and therefore the themes you can use are gtk themes.

See the link in my signature (there's a German translation linked by the flag).
If you want burning windows choose Burn (Verbrennen) instead of Zoom where I explain how to change the Close Animation.

Don't mind, your English is pretty good. I like to keep things in the "international" part of the forum anyway, so everyone can benefit from the informations.

Don't be afraid to ask any further questions.

You know what they say... In space (and the internet) no one can hear you (scream) :D

Yeah... stupid Aussies. We have to learn two foreign languages over here in school: English and French/Latin (at least when you want to go to university). You can choose whether you want to learn French or Latin. I chose Latin but I guess it doesn't count, since you can't speak it anyway (and I sucked at it) :D

But the good thing is, we are able to talk about you behind your back.
Du willst gar nicht wissen, was fick auf deutsch heißt... :D

hmm, google translate seems a little broken on that "You would not know what to fick German states ..."
