I just got ubuntu 5 days ago and this Compiz is not working:(
How do I install it
iv been tring for 3 hrs!
I have a ati 9550 and intel pentium 4

Compiz is installed by default on Gutsy, so all you need to do is enable it.

Go to System->Preferences->Appearance->Visual Effects, then select either Normal or Extra from the list. What happens?

The composite extension is not available

joe1016: Did you install the fglrx driver from the restricted manager? If so, install the xserver-xgl package via synaptic and restart X. If you're not sure what drivers you have installed, please post the output of 'glxinfo' here.
