windows decoration won't work

Hi,
I have installed gentoo 2007.1 sith compiz-fusion and emerald.
I also set the windows decoration plugin with emerald --replace in the command field but when I start compiz-fusion I cannot see the window borders anymore.

I' ve got nvidia drivers.

Had similar problem on openSUSE 10.3.

I had to add:
--no-libgl-fallback
to COMPIZ_OPTIONS

You can try to start compiz with this option first.

It's worth a try.

Please ensure that the Window Decoration plugin is enabled in ccsm.

Aside from that, can you confirm that Compiz is running? What's the output of the following command?
ps ax | egrep -i '(compiz|decorator|emerald)'

Also, which graphic card and driver are you using?

As per your ps outout, Compiz is not running on your computer. Either it isn't starting, or it's crashing very shortly after starting.

What command are you using to start Compiz, and what output do you see when running that command in a console window?
