Hi,
Firstly, apologies if this is the wrong place to ask this (I have searched but didn't find anything). Is there a way of scaling a single window permantly, in a similar way that the scale plugin works? I.e. there is an app that for example requires 1024x768 minimum screen size, then try running that on a small screen (UMPC 800x480). Is this something that is possible, is there actually an existing plugin to achieve this?

Many thanks.....

Doing this, while keeping the window interactive, requires input redirection in the X server. This is being worked on, though I don't know that there's a hard ETA on this yet. Once that's complete, I'm sure you'll be seeing all sorts of new plugins that allow you to interact with a transformed window in some manner.

though there is a plugin that lets you scale individual windows

the freescale plugin as announced here (http://smspillaz.wordpress.com/2007/12/05/compiz-fusion-community-news-for-decemeber-5-2007-keep-those-plugins-coming/)

though untill we have input redirection, you can't interact with the scaled windows, and I believe you need the latest version of compiz to be able to run it (and I don't recommend trying to install it, as there is the x11-xcb dependency that isn't easy to overcome)
