About 2 months ago I realized that we needed a more formal management structure to manage the site and coordinate everyone's efforts. The compiz community uses the meritocracy approach to leadership it inherited from compiz and the open source community. Based on this I "nominated" 5 individuals who had been members since the beginning and through their actions had shown their expertise, leadership, and commitment to the success of compiz. David agreed and the "Managing Committee" was born. The members are: David Reveman (davidr), Jeffrey Laramie (imnotpc), Mike Dransfield (mikedee), Rico Pfaus (RYX), and Arturo Monterroso (amgeex).
Our sole focus has been on building the infrastructure of the project and provide our developers and users with the tools and support they need, so we haven't discussed any other community "bylaws" at this point. We are certainly open to discuss and implement additional structure as needed or desired.
We're still have a couple other things to announce that aren't quite ready yet, so stay tuned...
