Hi everybody!

I've been having this problem with Compiz since starting with OpenSUSE 10.2 about a month ago.

I've got an ATI x850 Pro with the latest fglrx proprietary driver installed. KDE is my default but I installed Gnome also after the initial setup. I use the 3.5.6 KDE, latest Gnome installed by Gnome Stable repository, latest Compiz updated today, XGL stuff and Xorg 7.2 all updated to latest stable versions.

On my present installation I hadn't tried Compiz until today since I had been annoyed by the need to log out and log in again every other log in to KDE on my previous installations.

I tried Compiz again today as there was a newer version on the server and I wanted to see if my problem had been addressed.

No go. Compiz works perfectly. I switch to XGL in YaST, restart, and all works fine. However when I login again, the titlebars are gone from the windows, the system tray icons are gone, and the system is sluggish. So I then log out and in again and everything is back working perfectly.

Although the Compiz effects are cool, this needing to login twice all the time is too annoying to me to keep Compiz on, so I've turned XGL back to Xorg and have Kwin in charge again.

Is there any known fix for this? Is this a bug, or is it simply some setting a KDE user needs to change so that every login works perfectly?
