the error:
./autogen.sh --prefix=/usr/localautoreconf: Entering directory `.'

checking for COMPIZ... configure: error: Package requirements (x11-xcb xcomposite xfixes xdamage xrandr xinerama ice sm libxml-2.0 libxslt libstartup-notification-1.0 >= 0.7) were not met:

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.
Alternatively, you may set the environment variables COMPIZ_CFLAGS
and COMPIZ_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

I shortened that output and put it in code tags so it doesn't take so much room.
As for the problem, that is the major reason for not using git at this time, as most distros don't have x11-xcb, which is the direction compiz is heading in.
Whilst I personally don't know how to fix it, from what I've read it is a P.I.T.A. to install and it has some negative side effects.
So it isn't recommended to try and install the latest git version of compiz/compiz-fusion.
.....
This is also the reason for the 0.6.0 branch as that does not contain the x11-xcb dependency.....
