Hi there.
Is there anybody who succeeded in getting compiz-fusion running on an aluminium iMac 20"? The video adapter is an ATI HD2600 PRO.
I've been trying since a couple of weeks but with no success.
I have (yum)istalled the newest kmod-fglrx driver, which required a kernel-update, but nothing.
I've experienced all sort of strange things, like disappearing window borders, white screens, segfault at the bottom of dmesg...
Right now, i'm trying to reformat and reinstall everything from scratch, just to be sure i didn't mess up things with mixed updates...

Any ideas or hints?

Thanks a lot for the time/help.

You either need to use Xgl with that card, or you need to be using fglrx 8.42.3 or higher for AIGLX support. If you use 8.42.3 or higher, your X server version can not be higher than 1.3.0. You can find out what you have installed with 'Xorg -version'.

Thank you for the very quick answer.
Yes. Already tried. The driver version is exactly 8.42.3 and Xorg is exactly 1.3.0.0!
Direct rendering is OK. I have it enabled and both glxgears and fgl_glxgears run smoothly.
But i cannot get things up with compiz.

P.S. I'm finishing my (re)installation of the whole system. I'll be able to tell you somthing more precise after that.

Than you again
