View Full Version : GIMP at Fullscreen

I'm having two quirks with GIMP trunk/2.3 and compiz trying to work at fullscreen. I figured these GIMP settings work best for me (I'm having click to focus turned off, as GIMP is pretty much the only app that is a pain to use with click to focus):

Toolbox: utility
Other docks: utility
[X] transient to the image window
[ ] activate focused image

After going fullscreen (F11) Compiz will hide the docks correctly (pressing Tab), but to have them show again, one has to click on the image canvas before pressing tab again.

The other issue is when having the docks shown, drawing on the canvas is laggy. After the initial click, the image is not redrawn until after 1-1.5secods. After that time, the redrawing works fine.

None of these problems I get with metacity. Bugs worth filing or am I missing a magical gconf key/different GIMP settings?

You might want to try toggling this option to see if it has an effect, if not then try reporting this bug on the mailing list.

Actually that didn't seem to do it. I forgot to mention I am using xinerama (twinview) if that makes any difference. The painting is fine in fullscreen if the docks are hidden. But as soo as I have them on top, it will take a second before it starts updating the fullscreen image window below.
