Hi all !

I'm using latest openSUSE 10.3 with nvidia 100.14.23.

I want to use compiz 0.60 using nvidia method (not xgl one).

But when I neable composite extension in xorg.conf, my videos (not the windows) are teared, even when not running compiz.

May the nvidia driver be buggy ? Or did I make a mistake somewhere ?

Thanks

I have a similar problem. Just have a look into http://forum.compiz-fusion.org/showthread.php?t=5183

Part of it is probably due to the way of how compiz-fusion handles the rendering of moving windows and - as you suspected - compiz's way of realizing "sync to vblank".

I got a patch for Compiz from somebody in the NVidia forum that improves things significatly - at least it did it for me. If you are interested in the discussion in the NVidia forum and the patch just have a look at
http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=101336.

You must recompile the compiz package after applying the patch to the source code. If you need help just ask.
