Hello,

Since upgrade to 7.10 all video playback (.avi,.mpg, mythtv live tv etc etc) is a bit choppy.
Every 5minutes or so, sometimes less, the video stops, the sound continues, and then about 15seconds later the video skips forward to where the sound is and resumes.

I read to turn off compiz, and this worked, but i would like a more permenant solution, as i like compiz (and its shipped with ubuntu). This was never a problem in 7.04 running beryl.

Cheers
/Adam

I also have problems with watching videos.
In my case on Opensuse 10.2 with KDE and kaffeine/xine. The video rendering in the kaffeine window is unsteady - sometimes horizontal artefacts appear. When trying to resize the kaffeine window the window reacts terribly delayed - sometimes with the movie and sound stopping for some seconds.

As soon as one turns off compiz everything behaves smoothly.

This isn't guaranteed to solve the problem, but have you tried the suggestions at the Video Playback (http://wiki.compiz-fusion.org/VideoPlayback) page on the Compiz Fusion Wiki?
