I m using Fedora 7 just to use Beautiful and cool desktop seen on Youtube.

I m used to RedHat EnterPrise Linux and CentOS, but after working on Compiz and Beryl for more than a week on CENTOS 5 (and failed), I decided to add one more OS which has the "CUBE" along with the OS. So i added fedora 7 to my system.

My Graphic Card is Nvidia Geforce 6200 A-LE, and downloaded drivers from nVidia official website. And successfully managed to get the "default" DESKTOP EFFECT working that comes with fedora 7. But it only has a cube and wobbly effect. But that didn't satisfied me. So decided to add Compiz. Downloaded all rpms and successfully installed all rpms.

But when I start Compiz from terminal or from fusion-icon or so, the top bar from windows goes off (one with close, minimize, maximize buttons).
The error I get is:
compiz: Screen0 on display: 0.0 already has window manager, try compiz --replace.
compiz: No manageable screens found on display 0.0

Even "compiz --replace won't work"

Also, emerald theme manager does not load any theme or so...
Tried almost everything on net, but all in vain...
Plz help!!!!!!! :(

One thing is sure, there must be no prob with driver or so, since the default DESKTOP EFFECT works smoothly...

One illogical thing you may not have known about:

KDE/XFCE are unable to play nice with compiz unless you enable icons on the desktop.

It may have nothing to do with your problem, but it stopped me dead for a while.

Sorry, I just saw this... xfce4 seems to work fine with compiz, whether desktop icons are enabled or not. In my experience, it's only KDE that needs the icons enabled.
