Subconscious... is common sense?

Wikipedia says that the word "subconscious" is in "common use." [1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subconscious) But is this really the case? Or does our mind label it as "common sense" instead?

I believe it is common sense, for some reason unknown to myself. I can't quite put my finger on the reason at all though.

When wikipedia mentions it is in common use. It just means that it is a word that is used in our everyday life. A word that is used commonly, common use. Not trying to describe what subconscious means.

The article is just pointing out that in academic and scientific settings they try not to use the word, but in a normal setting people still use it.
