The source code for the latest release is available here:

http://releases.compiz-fusion.org/0.6.0/

However, most linux distributions have specific versions you should download. If you let us know which one you are using, we might be able to point you in the right direction.

compiz-fusion works on linux, freebsd, and (so I've heard) solaris/x86.
