I don't have much to say, I just want to thank you again for helping to try solving the so called "war" between beryl and compiz. I hope this forum will be the start of a peaceful coexistence of both projects and both communities (which in fact overlap anyway). If the number of users increases I'd like to offer my help as a moderator (though I have no experience in that).
:D

best regards

RYX

I join RYX to say thank you :) My bad English impose me to offer only my ubuntu packages, my howtos and a little of my time :)

Best regards

Thanks for the thanks :) although I don't think it changes much, the beryl/compiz "war" will probably still continue.

RYX - I've made you a moderator.

Btw I'm looking for 2-3 other moderators, Please email me if your interested, especially if I know you from the beryl forums or IRC.

I for one am very glad that things have been (at least partly) cleared up.

I think the war will turn into a cold war now and a race to port each others work. I think this is a great shame because people end up spending half their time just extracting patches and porting.

I hope now we can continue with a clear goal. In my opinion this is that David is 100% in charge of the core and base plugins. We can do whatever we like with 3rd party plugins or forks of individual plugins. That was always the design goals of this project as far as I can tell.

A lot of plugins were left behind from the old days of compiz-quinn. I would like help with hopefully finishing them off and improving them. All the plugins are on my site now but I will move them to the go-compiz site asap.

Also hopefully we can help each other to create the wishlist plugins from the beryl site, since that is what the 'community' wants. I think everyone here has their own strengths and hopefully through the forum we can educate each other. I have ideas but at the moment I am still on my C learning curve.

ok, this is a good way to start,

currently i am looking at ways to improve on some older plugins like showdesktop which i find very useful.
Also miniwin-dock and the widget plugin are extremely useful so we might need to concentrate on them.

Would it be possible to have subsections for each plugin?
Also i would like a place where i can find useful docs not only about compiz but for X also

Thanks everyone
