VLC Fullscreen Redirect Problem

Im using 0.6.0+git20071008-0ubuntu1 on Gutsy, with Ubuntu's nvidia-glx. Ever since a week or two ago, my VLC fullscreen window gets redirected or something. Im using Twinview, and have VLC set to fullscreen to screen 1, and going to fullscreen causes it to quickly go to screen 1, but then it lands on back on screen 0. Around the time of this breaking, the "unredirect fullscreen windows" option in CCSM was slightly broken, and wouldn't turn off, but now I am able to turn it off, but it doesn't solve the problem. I can switch on the VLC option to use "Alternate Fullscreen Method" but is there a way to get it to work with default options?
