Window decorations in Ubuntu

The window decorations plug-in turns itself off after restarts. I'm running 0.5.2, xgl, gnome, emerald as window decorator. Is the --replace command a requirement at login (and thus the fix)?

Edit my previous post to: All plugins turn on and off randomly after restarts...not just the window decorations. Where can I manually turn plugins on, not using the fusion icon? It seems to me that it's not saving my settings...

Start ccsm, goto Preferences > Tab: Profile and Backend > Backend
Choose "Flat file backend". Usually this does the trick.
