Hi,

I have a big 22 inches widescreen @ 1680x1050 and, almost always, I resize the windows to take horizontally half of the screen, and maximized vertically.

Right now, I have F4 binded to maximize windows vertically. I would like to bind another key to maximize "half" of the screen horizontally. Is there an plugin option for this? I've look at the resize plugin and others but can't find anything.

I'm sure I'm not the first one to use this but I couldn't find anything here or on google.

Thank you.

There's no function right now to resize a window to a specific width like this, although I think this would make an interesting feature request (http://forum.compiz-fusion.org/forumdisplay.php?f=91).

Have you tried out the Tile plugin (included in plugins-unsupported)? With exactly two windows open on a viewport, you could trigger window tiling with that plugin and the result would be both windows maximised vertically and each at 50% of the screen's width. (The specific tiling mode is Tile Vertically.)

Thanx Fyda for your suggestion and sorry for the late response ;)

I tryed the tile and it can works as I want, but only if I have 2 windows open, not more, not less. Tiling vertically with more then 2 windows will result in each windows having a width of (screen witdh) /(total number of windows), which can be quite small and silly ;)

I think that feature of tiling horiz. or vert. is quite useless, don't anybody think? Is somebody really tiling tens of windows in only one dimension?

Thanx again Fyda, I'll be using this until a better solution emerge :)
