How do you change the level of opacity of an application back. I am referring to the application that you see in the other sides of the polyhedron from the one that is in focus. At the present is hard to know which applications are in the other sides. With beryl I could even watch mythtv as a mirror image pretty clear.
TIA

You probably mean change the cube transparency so that you can see through your cube/polyhedron. Look for that in the Desktop Cube plug in.

Specifically, you would want to change the Opacity During Rotation setting.
Was that what you meant, or was it something else?

Divan,
I can make the cube completely transparent but the back of the application is still very dark. Yes you can see some but sometimes is hard to recognize. When using beryl you could see everything just a little darker and of course a mirror image. I have now one machine with beryl and the other one with compiz-fuison, it is not a minor difference.
There is also a difference between beryl and compiz-fusion here:
In beryl if I change the transparency of the cube, the back of the open application in the opposite side of the cube changes also. When the opacity is 0, the color is the same as you see it on the side facing you. It is the same except is a mirror image. Under compiz-fusion is always dark even with full transparency.

Fida,
Please read the last paragraph in my reply to Divan.
I had it in two different machines one with intel chip (the same with xgl or aiglx) and other with nvidia 8800, both running suse 10.3. This weekend I reinstall opensuse 10.2 with beryl to check it and I am correct, under beryl when the cube is transparent the back of the application is the same as it would be at the front of the cube (but mirror). I can not get the same with compiz.
If you make the Opacity during rotation zero in Compiz-fusion, are the back of an open application clear or dark?
Thxs both for your help

They are dark if you have the "Lighting" option enabled in the "General Options->Display Settings" tab in CCSM. If you disable the "Lighting" option, then the cube should become clear. Is that what you are after?
(Providing you use less than 100 opacity in the "Desktop Cube->Transparent Cube" tab.)

YOU GOT IT!. Thank you.
BTW what is the purpose of 'lighting' ('use diffuse light when screen is transformed')
Thxs again

Errrm... No idea really :o Some of those "tooltips" really need a better definition of some functions.
I'm just speculating here and using a simple explanation...
The "lighting-enabled" is meant to be that a (singular?) light source is used (front of screen?) as opposed to everything just being lit (or a light source within themselves).
With "lighting-enabled", objects will have a "presence" that will block light rays from the source.
However, I have a feeling that something is missing/broken in the current implementation where a truly transparent cube still "blocks" or "refracts" the light source (at the front?).
A developer would be able to explain it better I think
