Middle-Click Kinda Works...?

After I updated, my middle click isn't working the same as it used to.

Before:
Middle click on desktop to initiate cube rotation, then as soon as I was finished rotating, I let go of the button to have it return to desktop.

Now:
Middle click on desktop sends me into rotate mode, must press any button (Middle Click will not work though) to return to desktop.

On a weird kind of site note, I upgraded to Gibbon, found out that it broke most of my installation, and restored Feisty. After messing around with compiz on the restored setup, middle click randomly working. I'm guessing Gibbon repositories have files that aren't broken.

Soon after I restored to clean backup of Feisty only to find out middle click is being hindered once again :( Now I'm on the hunt for the working files.
