Hello

I've been using compiz included in Ubuntu Feisty (AMD64) for quite a while on my laptop (Intel 965GM over AIGLX), it was working fine, not too slow even. I decided to give compiz-fusion a try today, and run into troubles...

Packages installed fine from GIT repos. Compiz starts with GNOME, I can see fading of splash screen, tooltips and menus, but they seem VERY SLOW compared to old compiz. Now, when I try to open any window, it appears fine, but when I try to move it, GNOME freezes. I checked on CPU usage and it's normal, like nothing was happening at all. I tried to disable wobbly windows but it didn't help.

Additional info: I have Beryl installed aside from compiz-fusion, it works fine...

Any ideas I might try?

I don't know about you, but I was having issues between the versions of libdecoration from beryl and compiz... but I believe it prevented one from running...

I'd try removing beryl completely and re-installing compiz-fusion.

Package: libdecoration0
Status: install ok installed
Architecture: amd64
Source: compiz
Version: 1:0.5.5~git20070926+jbs0

So it's the version from compiz-fusion repository and Beryl works fine with it

EDIT: works fine in Ubuntu 7.10 from official repos, even faster than 7.04 Compiz/Beryl
