i'm running two 19 inch monitors on an nvidia 7600 on kubuntu feisty. i'm dual screening with xinerama, when i type the command compiz --replace i get the following error:
/usr/bin/compiz: line 777: 9441 Segmentation fault (core dumped) $*

it seems to act as if its loading, and then crashes...anyone know what's going on?

There are some long standing issues with xinerama and the composite extension with nvidia's drivers (even when compiz isn't involved).

Xgl doesn't need to be present. Can you go to http://pastebin.ca/ and paste in your /var/log/Xorg.0.log file and then give us the link to it?

Well it sounds like a driver issue, but your drivers seem to be installed properly. What's the output of 'dpkg -l | grep compiz'?

1.0-9755 is generally considered to be a good/stable driver release, and that's what Xorg.0.log is showing. What's the full output of 'glxinfo'? Though I doubt it would matter, have you tried it without Twinview?
