Compiz Fusion not working after program opening

I recently installed Compiz Fusion on my Ubuntu P.C. It runs perfectly at startup, but when i go to open a program it stops working. i typed in "Compiz --Replace" and then it works but that's kinda annoying to keep doing. Can I make it stay on for good?

How are you running it? What is the exact command which you have set to run automatically at startup?

Sorry I'm sort of new at this ubuntu thing. All i know is I want it to run at start up(which it is), and continue to run after I open a program, and not require me to type in the command "compiz --replace". I don't really know What is the exact command that I have set to run automatically at startup.

I have the same problem. The command you used to restart compiz also works fine here, but if I open a new program, or try to configure compiz, I have to type the command again to make it work. pretty annoying. I am using Ubuntu, and found a quick guide to install compiz, since this is my first day of ever using linux :p :o
