I have Compiz Fusion from Treviņo binary repository in Ubuntu 7.04, using ATI open driver and AIGLX on a ATI x300.
Very often on my installation happens that menus (application menubar menus) and context menus (right click menus, option menus) disappear in every running application.
Resizing application window, I saw that context menus appears anyway, but below every currently opened windows.
Menus are still active and can be clicked anyway without seeing it.
Gnome main menu also stays behind all windows.

The only way to restore menu functionality is to minimize all windows and than maximize the window I want to work on.

The bug doesn't appear every OS start, but very often.

Thanks for your work :)

Do you use 3D plugin? If yes, the problem should be solved after the next Trevinho update. If no, let me know ;)

I don't know which plugin you refer to as "3D plugin".
I've these enabled plugins:

Sorry but my Compiz is localized in italian, I think you should understand enabled plugins looking at position and icons.

I mean the "3D windows" plugin. Seeing that you have enabled it, I can only tell you it should be fixed in Trevinho's next update.

In the meantime, disabling the 3D plugin should bring your menus back ;)

Hi maniac, i'm not using 3D plugin (Desktop Wall enabled) and Compiz sometimes shows context menus below other windows. I have to restart Compiz to work.

I'm also with Feisty and Treviņo's repos.

The issue is still present with 3d plugin disabled also. Should I try to disable another plugin ?

Yes, please. I don't see this issue myself, so you'll have to do the testing which plugin causes it. Try disabling one plugin after another and see if the issue goes away.
Thanks.

I've tried to disable every enabled plugin, but menus are still below other windows.

it's probably coming from trevino's patches

So there's no solution for this atm?

sorry, but it seems that Treviņo's repo is very flaky... what's the most stable (for bleeding edge anyway) way to get compiz-fusion?
