View Full Version : Mouse bindings?

Hello everyone. I've just upgraded my whole compiz-fusion setup today (following the gentoo xeffects guide). I already had compiz-fusion installed, I just reinstalled everything as I realized that 1) the window decorator in the version i had was rather crash-prone 2) a new version was out!

Anyhow, I realized that compizconfig settings manager now looks decent. I'm on kde, and previously it was missing all the icons. Good stuff so far!

The only problem is, I've realized that alot of commands now no longer accept mouse bindings! While the eye candy is great, what I really loved about compiz/beryl/compiz-fusion is that it was possible to bind commands to mouse buttons (i have a logitech mx510, so that's 10 buttons of goodness, 8 if you dont let me count the scrolling)

I used to have close, toggle maximize and minimize bound to various buttons, which I've grown to find indispensable. I was very disappointed when I loaded up the new compizconfig settings manager and found that only keyboard bindings were accepted for these three commands! At least move and resize can still be bound to mouse buttons.

Getting to my point, is there any way I can bind close, toggle maximize and minimize to mouse buttons now? Perhaps I'm missing some plugins? If not, would you please consider brining it back? Thanks again for all the awesome work.

edit- I realized that the mouse-bindings are all still available in 0.5.2, and it's only in git head that most commands have lost the ability to mouse-bind. The new configuration interface is pretty neat! So hopefully, the mouse-bindings will make their way back in before the next release, or perhaps as a separate plugin?
