Hi everybody, this is my first post in this forum (whoopeeee! =))
I wanted to share with you all a little question that nailed in my head since yesterday night:
While wandering cluelessly in the Net, searching (with great struggle) for a way to have my ATI Xpress 200M working with Compiz/Beryl+XGL+fglrx (and don't tell me that I should use AIGLX+OpenAtiDrivers because they DON'T support 3D) I found what you all already know: ATI 8.41 will have a stronger OpenGL support and 8.42 will support AIGLX! YES! Fglrx+AIGLX will not be a mirage any more and we'll not have to envy nVidia any more. And, more important, we will be able to trashthe useless XGL, slow and heavy and most of the times unsupported by the application we require.
Wait, a sec: trashing XGL? So, if ATI+nVidia users (about 90% of the graphic cards working out there) will discontinue XGL in favour of AIGLX, what will be the future of XGL? Will it die in a second?
