I guess you just have to configure the cube correctly. See here (http://forlong.blogage.de/article/2007/8/29/How-to-set-up-Compiz-Fusion) under "Getting the cube".

I've already read and followed that. It seems that there is a problem with switching desktops. Pressing Ctrl+Alt+Arrow before switches a desktop to another. Now nothing happens. I even can't switch using the mousewheel on the background.

this happened after I installed compiz. But I want compiz..unfortunately, I haven't seen any solutions to these problems...still

Secondly, we have to increase the number of the virtual desktops to 4 at General Options → Desktop Size → Horizontal Virtual Size
(the other two options have to be left at 1)
Did you really configure it this way?

Okkkkkkayyyyyy.....so I solved my own problem.

The thing was, I just set my horizontal virtual size to 4...AGAIN..(i set it to 4 but when I checked it again it was still 1 so I set it to 4 again and viola, there came my cube)

Thanks!

Yes I did but when I checked again(because I really hoped to fix it by checking things again) it was still set to 1. I guess closing the window did not apply the changes. Thanks!
